June 12th 1979: Ordered by Rederi Ab Svea as SILJA STAR.
April 22nd 1980: Keel laid.
October 21st 1980: Launched at Pernovarvet and the hull was towed to Turku for completion.
April 28th 1981: Christened SILVIA REGINA by HM Queen Silvia.
June 10th 1981: Delivered to Suomen Yrtysrahoitus Oy , Helsinki, Finland. Leased to Oy Svea Line, Mariehamn, Finland.

February 7th 1982 – March 31st 1982: Rebuilt at Wärtsilä, Perno, owing to bow problems.

August 9th 1995: At Drobak Sound, whilst en-route from Frederikshavn to Olso, lost power and engine failure. Anchors were dropped but, she drifted towards land. Power was restored but, anchor chains became entangled. After about 2 hours the vessel was able to continue to Oslo.

December 21st 1999: Whilst at Cityvarvet, Gothenburg, a fire broke out. Quickly extinguished by crew with no casualties.
February 4th 2000: Rebuilt at Cityvarvet, Gothenburg with stern sponsons.

August 2000: Freight only services Gothenburg – Frederikshavn.
May 12th 2001 – May 13th 2001: At Copenhagen chartered, as a hotel ship for the Eurovision Final, to the magazine Se og Hör.
December 15th 2002 – January 17th 2003: Refit at Cityvarvet, Gothenburg.
June 6th 2003 – June 8th 2003: Chartered to the Norwegian Football Association for a trip to Copenhagen.

June 14th 2005: Having left Frederikshavn for Oslo, smoke engulfed one of the generator rooms and she returned to Frederikshavn.
June 22nd 2005: Back in service.
December 19th 2005 – January 28th 2006: Refit at Cityvarvet, Gothenburg.

January 2008: Rebuilt at Cityvarvet, Gothenburg, including a new funnel design because she had new exhaust boilers installed which affected her stability.

January 2011 – January 17th 2011: Rebuilt at Damen Shipyard, Gothenburg with, among other things, a spa facility.

November 27th 2025: Arrived Howe Sand, Squamish, British Columbia to become a hotel ship serving as a high-end, self-sustaining residential complex It features 642 private rooms, a gym, and dining areas. It completed major refits in Vancouver and is now moored as a worker accommodation ship at the Woodfibre LNG site in Squamish.
