History

First of the second series of three multi-purpose polythermal cargo ships which constituted an improvement of the first series of type “Pointe Allégre”.

April 4th 1973: Launched and violently struck the quayside.

October 8th 1973: Completed as POINTE MADAME for Owner and manager: Compagnie Générale Maritime France.

October 30th 1973: First departure from Le Havre for the West Indies, four days late following turbo-fan damage.

September 28th 1978: Assisted the English coaster DOLLY and towed it to Basse Terre.

December 1986: HORNGULF transferred to Pluto Shipping Corp. (Liberia), subsidiary of Horn Linie of the CGM Group.
