History

The second ship of the “Coral Class” and the only Panamax ships (term used for the size limits for ships travelling through the Panama Canal) in Princess’s fleet.

January 22nd 2002: Keel laid.

July 2nd 2002: Launched.

June 18th 2003: Delivered to Princess Cruises inc, Hamilton, Bermuda.

July 11th 2003: Christened in Vancouver, Canada.

July 12th 2003: Maiden cruise from Vancouver.

August 11th 2003: Registered Owner: Brittany Shipping, Hamilton, Bermuda. Manager: Management Princess Cruises Inc.

May 15th 2015: While the ship was on a round-the-world voyage across the glaciers in Glacier Bay National Park, a fire broke out on the ship. Leaking oil in the engine room ignited and caused a small fire on deck 4. A fire alarm was issued for the ship. The crew managed to limit the spread of fire and completely extinguish it within 30 minutes. All passengers were informed about the situation, no one was hurt.

April 2020: As part of the COVID-19 Pandemic precautions, the ship repatriated crew members to Asia and the summer cruise schedule for the ship was cancelled.

August 10th 2022: Called at Dover.
