Steel twin screw “Viking Star – class” motor vessel built in 2022 by Fincantieri Spa, Ancona, Italy (Yard No 6286) as a Passenger (Cruise) Ship for Viking Ocean Cruises Ltd, Bermuda.

February 4th 2020: Keel laid.

July 15th 2021: Launched.

May 12th 2022: Delivered to Viking Ocean Cruises Ship IX, Hamilton, Bermuda. She is the first ship in the fleet to be equipped with a small hydrogen fuel system to test how hydrogen power can be used for onboard operations and determine if it can be used on a larger scale in future builds.

December 22nd 2022 – May 8th 2023: Maiden voyage, the ‘Viking World Cruise’, which departed Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in December and will conclude in London

January 10th 2023: Christened in Los Angeles by godmother Nicole Stott, a retired NASA  astronaut and aquanaut.

May 7th 2023: Called at Dover.

May 7th 2024: Due at Dover.
