July 2020: Kooiman Marine Group received the order to repower the vessel. The conversion was prepared and carried out within a very short period of time.

For the purpose of removing the old generator sets, a temporary passageway had been cut in the starboard side of the ship, near the engine room. By temporarily removing the ventilation channels, a second temporary transit could be made in the main deck.

July 14th 2021: “The CZARNA PERLA was sailing on the Motława River in the afternoon with 120 passengers and crew on board, when she was struck and seriously damaged by the dredger DC Orisant which was working in the area. Seven people on board the tour boat, including a one year old child, were injured. Five, including the one year old, were subsequently admitted to hospital. Investigations into the collision were immediately undertaken by the GdanskSródmiescie District Prosecutor’s Office. Following their preliminary investigation they reported that the helmsman on board the CZARNA PERLA had failed to maintain a proper course and prevented the dredger from passing safely by. Local police found that the helmsman and a mechanic on board the tour boat were both impaired by alcohol and had been drinking at the time of the collision.”
