History

January 19th 1990: Launched, at the time, the world’s biggest Reefer.

August 31st 1990: Completed at a cost of US$50m.

September 1990: Delivered as DITLEV LAURITZEN for Lauritzen Reefers A/SCopenhagen. Denmark. Manager: Lauritzen Fleet Management. Copenhagen. Operator:NyKCool.

September 1990: Sailed to Montevideo to load palletised citrus fruit for Rotterdam and Dover.

October 17th 1990:

On maiden voyage came into Dover to commission the new “South Pier Cargo Jetty” which would later become Dover Cargo Terminal. Then demonstrated her container carrying ability by loading 238 40 ft containers in North Wilmington, North Carolina for Antwerp – 425,362 cartons
