History

The lead ship in the Ponant Explorers class of cruise ships operated by Ponant. Each member of the class has been allocated the name of a famous French explorer, and Le Lapérouse is named after naval officer Jean-François de Galaup, comte de.

March 1st 2017: Keel laid.

December 19th 2017: Launched,

May 2018: Sea trials.

June 15th 2018: Delivered to Ponant as in Alesund.

June 16th 2018: Left for Reykjavik, Iceland.

June 19th 2018: Commenced her maiden cruise.

July 10th 2018: Christened by Maryvonne Pinault, the wife of French billionaire businessman Francois Pinault, in Hafnarfjorour, Iceland.
