Twin screw motor vessel built in 1975 at Jos L Meyer Werft, Papenburg-Ems, Germany (Yard No. 575) as a passenger and vehicle roll-on/roll-off ferry

History

Constructed between 1969 – 1974, the nine so-called ‘Papenburg Sisters’ were all built at Jos. L. Meyer Werft shipyard at Papenburg-Ems, West Germany. Three were supplied to Mexican Government for service in the Gulf of California. Their design and profile were almost identical to the others in the series except that on the boat deck a sun shelter was added at the stern.

November 29th 1974: Launched.

March 15th 1975: Delivered to  Caminos y Puentes Federales de Ingresos y Servicios Conexos, (Transbordadores) Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

April 24th 1975: Services between La Paz – Mazatlan.

1980: Services between Santa Rosalia – Guaymas.

September 20th 1989: Transferred to Sematur de California S.A. de C.V, Mexico.

April 2004: Sold to Marwan Shipping &Trading, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates and renamed AJMAN 1.

July 2004: Sold for scrapping in Bangladesh.

September 28th 2004: Arrived Chittagong Roads, Bangladesh.
