Steel twin screw motor vessel built in 1974 by Soc. Nouvelle des At. & Ch. de la Rochelle-Pallice, La Rochelle-Pallice, France (Yard No 1212) as a Passenger/RoRo Cargo Ferry.

History

October 30th 1972: Keel struck.

May 17th 1973: Launched.

January 19th 1974: Delivered to Brittany Ferries S.A. Morlaix, France as their first “new” construction. The delivery had been delayed by a shipyard strike and financial problems.

January 1974 (Mid): Sea trials.

January 24th 1974: Commenced services Roscoff – Plymouth.

October 1974: Withdrawn from service for about a month owing to “technical problems”. During this time her accommodation was modified. Replaced by the British freighter VALERIE

August 27th 1975 – October 12th 1975: Services St. Malo – Plymouth.

April 1984: Sold to Rolf Erikson, Strömstad for US $ 2,475,000, delivered to Sverige-Norge Line Ab and renamed SVENO MARINA.

March 1998: Sold to Naif Marine Services (Pvt), Dubai and renamed JEBEL ALI.

April 1st 1998: Left Tunis for Dubai.

1998: Services Dubai – Umm Qasr (Iraq).

November 1999: Services Dubai – Qatar – Umm Qasr.

2000: Sold to Mohamed Hamdan Abdulla, Dubai. (Manager: Mubarak Shipping Co) and renamed JABAL ALI I.
