History

September 2005: Ordered.

August 21st 2006: Keel laid.

November 2006: Floated.

February 2007: Sea trials.

April 25th 2007: Delivered to Hurtigruten Group ASA, HRG, Narvik, Norway. En-route to Norway from the builders, she was showcased at Barcelona, Rotterdam, Hamburg, and Copenhagen

May 18th 2007: Arrived in Oslo.

May 19th 2007: Christened.

2007: Summer cruising around Greenland and winter cruising around Antarctica.

December 28th 2007 (Saturday, 9:30 a.m.): Antarctica , due to engine problems where she lost power for 30 minutes, she drifted into an iceberg that caused some damage to the ship –- but neither injuries nor leakages were reported.
