January 4th 1985: P&O Ferries Channel operations (ie Normandy Ferries) were sold to the European Ferries group then absorbed into the Townsend Thoresen fleet and painted in their livery (although wording on her hull was larger than that of her sister). Continued between Dover – Boulogne.

March 16th 1987: Sold to P&O Ferries Ltd., London. Rebuilt at Hall Russell Shipyard.

March 27th 1987: Renamed ST SUNNIVA and entered service between Aberdeen – Lerwick.

June 29th 1993: Suffered engine failure on arrival from Stromness and ran aground. Re-floated by a tug from Scapa Flow. Suffered minor hull damage and subsequently repaired.
