Steel twin screw motor vessel built in 1969 by F. Schichau GmbH. Bremerhaven (Yard No 1746) and completed by Rickmers Werft, Bremerhaven (Yard No 353) as a Tug/Salvage Ship.

History
December 30th 1969: Completed as ARCTIC for Bugsier-, Reederei- und Bergungsgesellschaft, Hamburg – Germany
When delivered in 1969, she and her sister ship OCEANIC were the most powerful tugboats in the world
1975: Fixed nozzles fitted by “Schichau Unterweser AG” at Bremerhaven. Engine power increased: 14.640 bhp.

1990: Laid up at Bremerhaven.
1993: Sold to become the pirate radio station ARCTIC RESEARCH for Magenta Investments, Nassau Bahamas
1993: Converted to yacht at Malta Drydocks, 2.640 grt.
January 1994: ARCTIC P for Kerry Packer, Auckland (NZ).
2005: ARCTIC P for James Packer
