November 15th – 18th 2019: Sailed from Genoa to Marseille. She was docked to carry out the traditional careening (in order to expose one side of its hull for maintenance and repairs below the water line) of the hull.
November 27th – 30th 2019: Returned to Genoa. The return journey was the first round of sea trials, which were successfully completed. “Since the Fincantieri Palermo basin was occupied, the Italian shipyard opted to use the Marseilles plant”.

Virgin Voyages Cancels New York Introduction

Virgin Voyages has cancelled its March introduction events of the Scarlet Lady in New York and the ship will instead sail straight to Miami, its homeport.
Said Virgin in a prepared statement: “In light of the current news headlines, we want to ensure everyone feels it is the right time to celebrate with us. We understand people may want to focus on other things at the moment, so we have made the decision to reschedule our upcoming Showcase Tour stop and events in New York City. We plan to sail back to New York soon for you to visit her.
“We have absolutely no health concerns or issues onboard and elevated our health protocol and processes when we took delivery of the Scarlet Lady to keep our crew and visitors well and happy.
“With no other events scheduled in New York at this time, we will instead sail Scarlet to her new home in Miami, where we will continue our plans for launch and welcome our Sailors for the first time.”
March 26th and 29th 2020: Two “Shakedown” cruises.
April 1st 2020: Scheduled inaugural maiden voyage and she is set to sail from Miami to destinations in the Caribbean on four- and five-night itineraries.
June 16th 2020:
“….due to be named in Miami in March and start a series of short Caribbean cruises, including calls at the line’s beach club in Bimini.
But as the coronavirus pandemic swept Europe and North America, Virgin had to postpone sailings until mid-July. Its Maiden Voyage had, at the time, been rescheduled for August 7.
However, as the situation grew worse and the CDC ( Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, USA) put in place a 100-day no-sail order in April, Virgin put the launch date back to October 16th and the official naming until March 2021.”
June 23rd 2020: Left bound for Genoa, Italy to repatriate crew members. She was then laid up in Civitavecchia and Genoa
April 8th 2021:
Virgin Voyages will make its long delayed debut along the English coast instead of the Caribbean.
Six short UK cruises in August have been confirmed by the new line’s first ship Scarlet Lady – which was originally due to make its debut more than a year ago before the Covid pandemic shut down all global cruises.
The itineraries start on August 6 with the first of three long weekend departures, while four-night weekday trips start on August 9.
The final UK cruise runs during the week of August 23-27, prior to the bank holiday weekend.
The sailings along the south coast of England will be restricted to UK residents aged 18 or over who have been vaccinated against Covid-19.

June 16th 2021: Arrived in Barcelona before continuing to Portsmouth.
June 21st 2021: Arrived at Portsmouth port ahead of starting her maiden season on August 6
