History

1996: Ordered by Costa Cruises and was to be named COSTA OLYMPIA, but due to the shipyard going bankrupt, work was suspended when it was about 35% complete.

October 6th 1996: Launched and advertised as being for sale.

November 1997: Sold to Norwegian Cruise Line, Nassau, Bahamas.

March 8th 1998: Towed to Lloyd Werft, Bremerhaven for completion.

June 17th 1999: Sea trials.

July 28th 1999: Delivered to Norwegian Cruise Lines, Nassau, Bahamas.

August 4th 1999: Transfer cruise from Bremerhaven to Dover.

August 9th 1999: Maiden cruise from Dover to Norway.

September 24th 1999: Ran aground at St. Lorenz-Strom. Re-floated and sailed to Quebec for repairs.

November 14th 1999: Back in service.

May 19th 2001: During an Alaskan cruise, the ship’s autopilot malfunctioned. The ship listed heavily to port, injuring 78 passengers.

May 2004 – June 2004: Refit in San Francisco, USA.

June 2004: Sold to Pride Of Aloha Inc, Honolulu, USA and renamed PRIDE OF ALOHA.

June 2004: Commenced cruising to Alaska/Hawaii.

May 2008: Ceased Cruising from Hawaii.

June 2008: Registered to NCL Bahamas Ltd, Nassau, Bahamas and renamed NORWEGIAN SKY.

January 2009: Sold to Ample Avenue Ltd, Nassau, Bahamas. Manager: NCL Bahamas Ltd, Nassau, Bahamas.
