September 5th 1996: Keel laid.
October 30th 1996: Launched under the name of COLUMBUS.
June 17th 1997: Delivered to Hapag-Lloyd, Nassau, Bahamas as C COLUMBUS. Christened the same day and undertook a special cruise from Hamburg.
June 26th 1997: Maiden cruise from Hamburg to Nordkap later cruising operations.
