Past and Present – Conferry


Conferry (Consolidada de Ferrys C.A.) is a Venezuelan shipping company operating passenger and freight services to the islands of Margarita and Coche. Following the financial collapse of the company in 2017,  which saw the majority of its fleet sink on their berths due to lack of maintenance, the company was nationalised.

The company is currently owned by Bolipuertos (Venezuelan state), it serves the ports of Puerto la Cruz, Punta de Piedras, Guanta, La Guaira, Coche Island, and the international port of Guamache. Following the financial collapse, the company was rebranded ‘La Nueva Conferry’ (The New Conferry)
