Introduction
Firstly I would like to take this opportunity of wishing all our readers a Happy New Year and best wishes for 2016. With the New Year upon us I think we all look back on the previous year and whilst updating the website at Christmas I noticed that I haven’t actually posted a photographic update to the website since April, this is despite the fact that I have still been taking the occasional photograph.
As a consequence I have gone through my own personal archive and selected 160 of my own photographs to bring my own photography up to date on the site.…… Oh and my New Years resolution? Upload my own photos more often ☺
May
Things in May were relatively quiet, all ferry operators were building up to the peak Summer season and everything was operating normally. DFDS had introduced the Malo Seaways the previous month and she was starting to settle in alongside the Calais Seaways on the Dover to Calais route. Little did we know that this was the quiet before the ‘Channel Storm’ which ensued through the Summer months. At the end of May Groupe Eurotunnel announced that it would end its partnership with MyFerryLink. The lease of the three vessels (Rodin, Berlioz and Nord Pas de Calais) would not be renewed after it expired on 2 July 2015 – unhappy times ahead on the short sea….
