History

Ordered by British India Steam Navigation Company Ltd but was not able to be delivered before P&O’s reorganisation.

February 1st 1972: Launched.

November 9th 1972: Delivered as ZIRA for The Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company Ltd (P&O General Cargo Division, managers).

October 15th 1975: Renamed VOSGES when chartered to Israeli interests. Placed on Israel/Marseilles service.

1979: Lengthened by Officine Marittime SpA, Genoa.

December 27th 1979: Returned to service.

1980: Managers/operators restyled P&O Deep Sea Cargo Division.
