History

April 17th 1981: Launched. One of a series of seven similar ships in the Dmitriy Shostakovich Class (of project B-492/B-493) used by the Soviet shipping companies as ferries and passenger/cruise ships.

1982: Delivered to Baltic Shipping, Leningrad, Soviet Union.

1982: Commenced service between Leningrad – Helsinki.

1988 – 1989: Modernised at Lloyd Werft Bremerhaven.

November 28th 2013: Laid up in Las Palmas.

January 9th 2014: Sold to Achieva SF-one Ltd, Miami, USA.

January 15th 2014: Renamed OCEAN ENDEAVOUR.

January 18th 2014: Left Palmas for Lerwick.

January 2014: Provided floating accommodation for Petrofac in support of the Shetland Gas Plant project.

December 20th 2014: Left Lerwick and sailed to Portland “For Orders”.

May 20th 2015: Arrived at Blohm & Voss, Hamburg for rebuilding/refit to become an expedition ship.

“She is currently being operated in the northern summer season on the east coast of Canada, Greenland and the Canadian Arctic; and in the southern summer season to Antarctica from Ushuaia; by Adventure Canada an independent, family-owned expedition cruise company from Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.”

November 2016: Currently cruising in Antarctica for Quark Expeditions.
