January 16th 2018:

“En route from Derince to Flixborough with 2957,5 tonnes of steel products, along with seven crew members and two pilots on board, ran aground at 7.30 p.m. on the River Trent, approximately one mile west-northwest of Alkborough, in position lat 53 41 37N, long 000 41 43W. No defects or pollution was reported. Two tugs supplied by Deans of Hull arrived on Jan 17 at 7 a.m. to assist in re-floating the vessel which was also carrying 35.6 tonnes of marine gas oil and 4,080 Litres of lube oil. Attempts to refloat the vessel remained so far unsuccessful. Discussions were taking place to evaluate the possibility of lightening it to facilitate re-floating. A meeting between the relevant authorities was due to take place on Jan 19 to discuss future intentions. Tugs re-floated the vessel only on Jan 22.”.
