Steel single screw motor vessel built in 1984 by Ferus Smit Scheepswerf B.V. Westerbroek. The Netherlands (Yard No 0236) as a General dry cargo vessel – Singledecker – Double skinned.

History

September 18th 1984: Construction began.

November 3rd 1984: Launched as VIOS for Vios C.V., Tiel – The Netherlands. Manager: Vios C.V., Tiel – The Netherlands.

November 29th 1984: Delivered. Manager: C.V., Tiel – The Netherlands

December 10th 1984: After the successful trial run on the Ems the vessel was transferred to Tielmast BV.

July 2004: NINA I for Eurica Shipping Ltd. Majuro, Marshall Islands. Manager: Baltnautic Shipping Ltd. Janonio str. 20 Klaipeda Lithuania.

November 21st s005: In the Oostgat (narrow but deep channel in the mouth of the Western Scheldt close to the southwest coast of Walcheren) at buoy OG 13 suffered engine failure owing to contaminated fuel. Towed to Everingen by the tug GHENT.

December 11th 2005:  “Kallo lock (Antwerp) near buoy 98, collided with the ALEXANDROS that had just left the lock. The impact caused one crew member to fall overboard and was taken to hospital. NINA I was hit on the starboard side. The engine room quickly flooded and the ship was grounded. After an emergency repair, she was towed by tugs from Urs Towage NV to the quay and later to a dry dock in Antwerp.”.

February 17th 2006: Towed by tug EUROSUND from Antwerp, via the Kiel Canal, to Leipaja.
