Dover Ferry Photos Offline

13/10/2020: The website is currently offline and will be for a few more days at least due to a major technical issues with our database. The problem has been identified and the fix is a rather slow and painful one due to work commitments and the actual amount of work involved to rectify it.

19/10/2020: The repairs are now well underway with the database now rebuilt and repaired. Our image archive is the next item to complete (We are around 40% complete on that one) and once complete it will be on to the testing phase.


I would like to point out at this point that I am not a software engineer or a programmer, I am just a plucky, technically minded person who knows a bit about websites and how they operate. In the last week I have had to delve into some things that are way above my paygrade (primarily php and MySQL) but I am getting somewhere and one positive aspect to take away from the last 7 days is that I have learnt a number of new skills, which will no doubt come in handy in the future.
